It has not been the best couple of weeks for WWE as after the release of their video games, a number of copyright claims have surfaced.
The latest claim has been made by Catherine Alexander, for her tattoo work on Randy Orton.
Randy Orton is a 13 time World Champion professional wrestler for WWE and a representation of him features in the ÂWWE 2KÂ video games.
This representation features a number of Randy OrtonÂs tattoos, which Alexander claims in in breach of her copyright protection.
The claim states that between 2003 and 2008, she tattooed a number of original designs on Orton, for which she submitted the applications to register copyright in the tattoos in March.
The claim states that when Alexander brought this to the attention of WWE, they offered her a $450 payout for full use of the designs and the ability to reproduce the tattoos.
This was refused by Catherine Alexander who then brought a claim for copyright infringement against WWE and the game maker.
If a previous claim in respect of tattoos against WWE which was approved to proceed is anything to go by, WWE is in for an expensive year.
