Michael Coyle Solicitor Lawdit

Michael Coyle

Co-founder & Solicitor Advocate

Michael is Lawdit’s Principal and heads our Commercial and Intellectual Property Department. As a Solicitor Advocate, he is one of a select group of legal experts qualified to represent clients as an advocate in the Higher Courts in England and Wales.
He holds a Master of Laws degree (LL.M) from Nottingham Trent University and is a guest lecturer at Southampton Solent University. He has also completed a teaching stint at the Academy of Music in Guildford where Michael taught copyright law.

Michael is highly regarded for his work in all areas of intellectual property law (which includes the eCommerce and IT fields), litigation and company/commercial matters. He regularly advises on non-contentious issues including regulatory and statutory obligations and has been involved in many successful disputes, with a strong reputation for finding common sense and practical solutions for clients.

In 2017, Michael was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Law from Southampton Solent University for his contribution to the University and his continued support to its students.

Mark Reed - Team - Lawdit Solicitors Team

Mark Reed

Solicitor & DIRECTOR

Mark heads up our Isle of Wight office while also spending time in our Southampton and London offices to meet clients. Mark specialises in Civil Litigation; Commercial Disputes; Family Law; Defamation and Harassment; Construction Disputes; Private Client; E-Commerce; Intellectual Property; Music Law; and can also assist with Mergers and Acquisitions. Mark holds a LPC LLM from The University of Law in Guildford

Mark has an excellent track record for retaining clients and has also acted for several high-net-worth individuals. He is known for his professionalism, transparency and is considered approachable and always on the other end of the phone – and even gives clients his direct mobile number so they can reach him anytime (within reason).

Mark occasionally accepts pro-bono cases and has had good results on behalf of his clients outside court and during court. As a confident public speaker, Mark has held presentations to university students and given talks to scholars on different areas of law.

Mark has a wife and three children and lives on the Isle of Wight.

Izaz Ali

Izaz Ali undertakes both contentious and non-contentious matters. He specializes in commercial contracts and has undertaken a significant number of company sale/ purchases with a focus on software and IT businesses.

Over the years, Izaz Ali has gained valuable experience in commercial litigation having handled a variety of litigation matters including breach of contract claims. Izaz has attained the Higher Rights of Audience qualification in stages 1 and 2 (commercial law).

Izaz Ali acts for a number of high-profile companies and is seen as their ‘go to’ advisor on commercial legal matters as he is well regarded for his lateral thinking and solution focused skills.

Izaz Ali has delivered guest lectures at a local university and in other teaching venues. Author of many legal, IP and IT articles, Izaz prides himself on providing relevant and cost -effective advice and solutions for his clients.

Inam Ali - Team - Lawdit Solicitors Team

Inam Ali is a commercial property solicitor with over 15 years’ experience in dealing with a wide range of property matters on a nationwide basis. This includes commercial leases, lease extensions, and both commercial leasehold and freehold sales and purchases. 

Inam is also experienced with numerous residential house sales & purchases, flat sales & purchases, residential lease extensions, residential leasehold and freehold purchases and splitting freehold titles. Due to Inam’s experience, he has developed a notable reputation in Hampshire for his commitment to his clients.

Inam also advises clients on the acquisition and development of sites for residential and mixed-use developments and has acted for a number of property developers where he has drafted option agreements. Thus, Inam understands the need for cost-efficiency whilst carrying out the necessary due diligence.

Inam’s approach is pragmatic and commercial.

Ellis Sweetenham - Team - Lawdit Solicitors Team

Ellis is a contentious and non-contentious intellectual property (IP) solicitor at Lawdit Solicitors. Ellis also is an the Director and an  intellectual property law consultant at Lawdit’s sister company Trademarkroom.

Ellis qualified as a solicitor in 2019, and over her qualified years has gained valuable experience in all contentious and non- contentious matters relating to trade marks, copyright, designs and patents. Ellis has represented clients in a variety of matters, including those relating to infringement, licensing, oppositions, cancellations, invalidations, assignment, portfolio management, pre-filing due diligence and registration. This includes matters before the Intellectual Property Enterprise Court, UK Intellectual Property Office, EU Intellectual Property Office and Word Intellectual Property Organisation.

In addition to IP matters, Ellis is also experienced in other commercial law matters, including music law, defamation, data protection, civil litigation and commercial disputes. 

Ellis has built a reputation for being detail-focused and thorough, always available to provide clients with the highest level of client care. Ellis acts with the highest level of professionalism to ensure that her clients are well informed and their best interests are at the centre of all advice given and action taken. 

Ellis is a regular on the Lawdit Solicitors Mark Wing Podcast, and has written many legal articles, both for Lawdit and Trademarkroom’s reading room, as well as for external IP publications.

Ellis is based in our Isle of Wight office.

Owen White - Lawdit Solicitors Team

Owen White

Solicitor

After achieving a First Class LLB Law degree at Solent University, Owen joined Lawdit in September 2020.

Having completed his Legal Practice Course with the University of Law, Owen qualified as a Solicitor in December 2024.

Owen specialises in Property law and has numerous experience with residential and commercial purchases, sales, title splits, commercial leases, lease extensions and bridging loans.

Owen can also assist with Landlord and Tenant disputes, contentious property disputes, civil litigation, dispute resolution and commercial matters.

Samuel Killoran​ - Lawdit Solicitors Team

Samuel joined the Lawdit Team in September 2020 as a Paralegal and has assisted Michael, Izaz, and Mark with both contentious and non-contentious matters. Samuel assists with Civil Litigation; Commercial Disputes; Defamation and Harassment; Construction Disputes; Family Law; E-Commerce; and Intellectual Property.

Alongside Samuel’s Paralegal role at Lawdit, he completed a LLB Law degree at Southampton Solent University and achieved a First-Class award in July 2023.

In September 2023 Samuel commenced a period of recognised training with Lawdit as a Trainee Solicitor and is undertaking a part-time Legal Practice Course and Master of Science in Law, Business and Management at the University of Law.

Abhiraj Aujla

Trainee Solicitor

After achieving a First-Class LLB Law degree and a LLM in Intellectual Property Law at Solent University, Abhiraj joined the Lawdit Team as a Trainee Solicitor in October 2023. Abhiraj is also undertaking a part time Legal Practice Course at the University of Law in Southampton alongside his Training Contract.

In his spare time Abhiraj enjoys running, swimming, and playing video games.

Team Member 04 - zohaib 2.3

Zohaib Tahir

Trainee Solicitor

After achieving a First Class LLB Law degree and a Masters in Law at Solent University, Zohaib joined Lawdit as a trainee in October 2023 and is currently supporting fee earners in the Property department. Zohaib is also undertaking the LPC at the University of Law in the hopes of becoming a qualified Solicitor.

When Zohaib is not working he spends his time playing video games and watching football. Zohaib supports Manchester Utd.

Vlad Krupski

Vlad Krupskyi

Paralegal

Vlad is a Ukrainian lawyer specialising in intellectual property law, criminal law, commercial law and litigation of post-Soviet states. He is currently assisting the team in the Intellectual Property department, and his role covers both contentious and non-contentious matters. Alongside, he is finishing his LLM in the University of Southampton and starting his SQE path to become a qualified Solicitor in the UK.

Outside of work, Vlad keeps abreast of new changes and trends in the world. He is fluent in Ukrainian, Russian and English.

Ben Furniss

Ben has a degree in Classics and Estate and Equity Law. Ben recently joined Lawdit Solicitors bringing focused expertise in Wills and Probate, both contentious and non-contentious.

Ben is committed to guiding clients through sensitive legal processes with professionalism and care.

His meticulous approach ensures every detail is managed effectively, delivering peace of mind during pivotal moments. 

Ben is a black belt in karate and in his spare time enjoys cooking, spending time with his family and walking his dog.

Yann - Lawdit Solicitors Team

Yann Tang

Chinese lawyer

Yann is a Chinese Lawyer and Patent Agent specializing in intellectual property law, arbitration and litigation, and company compliances. She has Lawdit as an incoming Trainee Solicitor with a heavy emphasis on filing trademarks in China including Hong Kong. She helps clients in growing their business without legal hassles and commercializing their intellectual property. Since September 2021, she has been pursuing her LLM degree at Queen Mary University of London

In her spare time, she likes Post-Rock, photography, running, hiking and playing tennis.

Waheedan Jariwalla

US Attorney

Waheedan is Lawdit’s in-house U.S. Attorney.  Born and raised in sunny Florida, Waheedan obtained her Juris Doctor law degree from the University of Miami. After being admitted to the Florida Bar in 2005, she subsequently moved to the UK (where she is currently based) and qualified as a Solicitor as well.  She specialises in all aspects of U.S. Intellectual Property Law with a focus on Trademarks.  She is committed to helping clients navigate the complexities of U.S. Applications with the USPTO.

In her downtime, Waheedan loves to read (particularly Stephen King), walk outdoors and bake with her daughters.  She loves spending long summers working and residing in her hometown of Miami with her family where she can swim the warm waters of the Atlantic Ocean and indulge in her favourite Cuban foods such as “Arroz con Pollo” and “Pastelitos de Queso”.

Jennie Croston

Office Manager and Accounts

Jennie has spent a lifetime in office administration whilst working for a major international company and decided in 2018 that she wanted a new challenge and joined Lawdit as the office manager and accounts person.

Jennie is a life long Manchester City fan, loves her dogs and walking.

Bruno Nigro - Lawdit Solicitors Team

Bruno Nigro

Consultant

Bruno is the founder and managing partner of an Italian law firm established on 1994 in Rome. He assists individual and corporate clients in civil law cases and has a strong experience in cross border litigation. Bruno also gained experience as an insolvency practitioner appointed by Court of Rome. He is an Italian qualified lawyer with rights of audience in the Italian Highest Courts, and also qualified as Solicitor in England and Wales. He is also a registered trust and estate practitioner and gained a diploma in International Business Organisations (College of Law, now University of law) and an Advanced Certificate in Trust Disputes (S.T.E.P.).

Nicholas Orosz - Lawdit Solicitors Team

Nicholas Orosz

Nicholas graduated in Law from Cambridge and has several years experience as a corporate commercial solicitor in the City where he worked for blue chip international law firms specialising in Mergers & Acquisitions and Venture Capital and it used to problem solving at a high level. Since then he has run his own businesses and is able to bring a strong commercial perspective to legal matters.

He has advised start up clients on commercial matters including internet and e-commerce. He has served on the board of three charities as legal advisor, and even provided legal advice to HH the Dalai Lama. He has a strong attention to detail, is able to communicate complex legal issues in an easy to understand way, and undertakes general legal work as a consultant including probate and wills. He speaks five languages.
