We are the goon squad and we’re coming to town!

I work for a large fashion house. I want to keep this year’s designs secure and safe. Is this possible?

Yes of course. If you dont want to incur the fees for a registered design (which can be substantial) and as you may well have many hundreds of designs to register then you can rely on the Community Design Regulations (‘6/2002/EC’) (‘CDR’). Whilst it will not give you a monopoly on the design the CDR lasts for three years and is entirely suitable for 2 dimensional drawings. This means surface decoration and pattern designs can be protected extremely effectively.
