TikTok sensations Wakey Wines banned for Prime prices

Anyone who is active on social media will know the massive hype surrounding the drink Prime. Founded by YouTube superstars KSI and Logan Paul, the supply and demand for the energy drinks have been off the scale.

Many have been pushed on to secure the sought after drink from smaller businesses. This has led to some taking advantage.

Once such business is Wakey Wines. An off-license based in Wakefield, has built a following on TikTok for his viral videos and catchy catchphrases. Popular with younger viewers, Wakey Wines has claimed in a number of videos to be selling Prime for £100 a bottle, despite the recommended retail value being £2.00.

Despite Prime found KSI warning customers away from Wakey Wines, it seems the business was still very popular with a video being posted of a woman claiming to have bought 12 cans of Prime for £1200.00 and that Wakey Wines is the best in Wakefield. Whether the details in this video were true, it is yet to be confirmed.

Due to the claims of massive overinflation of pricing, TikTok has banned the account on a temporary basis. It is likely this has come from a complaint by a viewer.

It will be interesting to see if this is followed by further more formal legal action- watch this space!
