Journalist Peter Geoghegan wrote a very incisive article about the use of lobbyists by the new Labour government that I recently came upon.

One topic that is particularly dear to me, for instance, is the growing impact that the gaming industry has on our lives—far more so than it did when I was a child. These days, it seems like every other advertisement on Talk Sport is a gambling advertisement, and William Hill or Sky Betting is the sponsor of almost every football podcast. They have to be spending millions.

The government of Labout is already being lobbied by secondary ticketing companies regarding any plans it may have to end the practice.
