Modern artist, Sophie Tea, first released an NFT collection of her artwork in May this year, which was a huge success.
Her launch was in collaboration with Future Art to make the sale more accessible. The drop featured 3 separate NFT designs, with 20 copies of each available; making a total of 60 NFTs dropped at once. They were sold on a first-come first-serve basis and sold out within an incredible 4 seconds on the NFT sale site ‘Nifty Gateway’.
Tea has since altered her artistic style and has evolved her NFT journey with her earthly artistic journey and launched a new NFT collection on November 5th of this year. She said she ‘wanted to create brand new artworks that personify her brand-new era “Grow”’.
This new project features 31 independent NFTs available for purchase, again, on the Nifty Gateway site.
Her first collection, titled ‘GROW’, showcases 3 separate artworks; ‘FLOWER’, ‘GRASS’, ‘MUSHROOM’, and each has 10 available editions. These were each available for $399 (£331). The artist has said about this collection that it ‘celebrates nature and the female form’. A very modern fitting for the modern platform of NFTs.
Tea’s second collection is titled ‘WELCOME’ and features one single edition artwork at the price of $199 (£165). 9 collectors of this NFT will be chosen at random to receive a physical, hand-finished print of the NFT artwork as well.
The November 5th drop was a huge achievement, after selling out ‘instantly’.
Not only has she stepped foot successfully into the NFT universe, but she is also encouraging her collectors to join her. In an attempt to do this, which has evidently been effective, was by creating a page on her website regarding NFTs, what they are, how to purchase them, and even details regarding crypto wallets and how to set them up for the purposes of her NFT drop. She is one of many artists seen to be welcoming others into the NFT world through either cryptocurrency or card payments.
It will come as no surprise if Sophie continues her metaverse journey into more NFTs and modern artforms to showcase both her talent, and the modern technology available today.
