Copyright infringement. Tories enrage and infringe Primal Scream or the Dandy Warhols
“Primal Scream are totally disgusted that the Home Secretary Theresa May ended her speech at the Tory party conference with our song Rocks.
How inappropriate. Didn’t they research the political history of our band? Hasn’t she listened to the words? Does she even know what getting your rocks off means? No. She is a Tory how could she?’
The above quote was in reference to the Home Secretary’s speech to the Tory faithful as she walked off stage to the Rocks tune. The claim that Primal’s ditty was infringed has been rejcted by the tories who claimed it was a Dandy Warhols song.
Playing a song without the author’s and owner’s permission or without a licence is copyright infringement without question and the tories may well face legal action from Bobby Gillespie and the boys.
