After a series of success cancellations of the contested mark as “LAFEI MANOR” (Appl. No.9158304), CHATEAU LAFITE ROTHSCHILD, the right owner (“LAFITE”) brought a lawsuit to the Jiangsu High People’s Court for compensation up to GBP12,000,000.00 based on its favourable cancellation decisions made by the Trade Mark Office. In July 2021, the judge held that LAFITE was entitled to a remedy being equivalent to GBP9,440,000.00 in respect of trade mark infringement and unfair competition.
