Denial of attack. Sentence upheld

The appeal was against a two-year custodial sentence in connection with various acts under the Computer Misuse Act 1990.

In short Martin was found guilty of hacking. Mr Martin had hacked in to bank accounts, as well as institutions such as Kent Police.

So it was very serious and although Martin appealed, the court held that the offences were serious enough to fall in the top category of such an offence. In particular he planned the attacks in detail, had a high level of sophistication and previous convictions.
