Global superstar rapper Cardi B has landed a good result in the courts in the USA over a dispute with YouTuber Latasha Kebe, known online as Tasha K.
Cardi filed a claim against Kebe over a number of videos posted on the platform that includes defamatory comments. Kebe runs the channel UnWineWithTashaK which is a gossip channel with over 1 million subscribers.
Cardi B requested an injunction to remove and prevent the re-posting of 21 videos in a case starting in 2018. She stated that the comments made were degrading and harassing and made false claims about her private life and health.
After a trial, both parties have agreed a permanent injunction which included the removal of the videos and a block on the re-post of similar comments and statements.
This is of course a big win for Cardi B and a result which could have an impact on the gossip culture and platforms on the internet for the future.
