Beauty influencer Olivia Jade who is currently at the center of the college admissions scandal, has had her trademark application for ÂOlivia Jade Beauty rejected by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) due to poor punctuation and vague language.
The 19-year old influencer is looking to trademark make up kits comprised of moisturizer, primer, concealer, foundation, make-up powder, make-up pencils, eye make-up, eyeshadow, and more.
The popular Youtube and Instagram bloggerÂs application was rejected by the USPTO for failing to use the correct punctuation in the identification in order to Âclarify the individual items in the list of goods and added, ÂProper punctuation in identifications is necessary to delineate explicitly each product or service within a list and to avoid ambiguity. Commas, semicolons, and apostrophes are the only punctuation that should be used.Â
It is reported that the officials have the belief that the 19 year old influencers application for Âmake up kits with Âmoisturizer and Âconcealer are too broad with the major factor pointed out as the punctuation within them.
Instead, it is suggested by the USPTO that using terms such as Âskin moisturizer and Âmake-up setting spray are more specific examples of language to use.
Olivia Jade has the right to resubmit her application to the USPTO once more following 2 previous attempts.
