Twitter sued for patent infringment.
The 140-character messaging system which is at the core of Twitter’s success is facing a legal battle as a law suit was filed by Techradium a Texas company.
Techradium’s lawyer states “The problem is the Twitter architecture. The way they have it set up is technology that is squarely within TechRadium’s patents.” This cannot come as a suprise to Twitter. The excellent Register reported :
“It’s not that Twitter didn’t see this coming. In mid-July, a hacker exposed a wealth of corporate and personal documents one of which as Wired was stamped “Legal” and included the prophetic words: “We will be sued for patent infringement, repeatedly and often.”
So it will be interesting to see how the Twits extrapulate itself from this.
