Google Made to Talk over Patent Infringement

Google the world’s most infamous internet search engine is being sued for patent infringement. Â

Rates Technology Incorporated claims that their technology which assists internet phone calls is being infringed via its use in Google’s free internet telephone system.

The patents in question date back to 1991 and 1995 and Rates Technology Incorporated are requesting damages and Court costs as well as an injunction to prevent the further use of the technology.

“Google talk” allows its users to hold voice conversations over the internet between two or more users at a much lower cost than a land telephone line. Â

It is believed that a Court hearing will be held in February in New York.
