Everything is OK Catherine!

The recent judgement in the House of Lords appeal case involving Catherine Zeta Jones, Michael Douglas and Hello magazine has taken a dramatic swing.

The court ruled that Hello! Magazine had breached the confidentiality rights to the wedding of Catherine Zeta Jones and Michael Douglas in 2000.

This decision is likely to affect the freedom of the media and will certainly make any individual/company think twice before publishing what is called a ‘spoiler’. If a confidentiality agreement is in place, it seems that any third party which publishes unauthorised pictures of the event will be liable and could have to pay a large amount of damages.
