Comments have been invited from the UK Intellectual Property Office (IPO) which has published a review of the operation of the Copyright Tribunal, carried out by two IPO hearing officers. The review makes a number of recommendations, which are summarised at pages 5 and 6.
In particular, the review calls for the replacement of the Tribunal’s rules of procedure by the Civil Procedure Rules and practice directions, and the abolition of lay members. The IPO has invited comments on the recommendations by 31 August 2007.
