Amazon v IBM

The ongoing dispute between Amazon and IBM has continued with Amazon.com countersuing form Patent Infringement.

Initially IBM brought an action against the on-line retailer on the basis that it felt that it has infringed three of its Patents. It is  believed that the Patents cover methods of presenting applications in an interactive service.

IBM claim that it was approached by Amazon about the potential use and licence of the Patents, however this did not come to fruition.

Amazon argues that the Patents are so broad that if the Patent were to be enforced, the Whole World Wide Web would have to pay IBM.
