ÂAs a rule, I watch them through these pirate apps. I shouldnÂt say that…but…Moviebox, Cinemabox…Â
This is the rule that former Croatian Prime Minister, Zoran Milanovic, shared when on a Croatian prank-call show.
The former Prime Minister was telephoned by prank-call show ÂU Zdrav Mozak the show is renowned in Croatia for playing pranks on famous people. The showÂs host Davor Jurkotic telephoned pretending to be Mark Russinovich, CTO of Microsoft Azure. In the conversation they discussed watching films whilst at work, this is where the former Prime MinisterÂs rule of using pirate apps was announced:
ÂAs a rule, I watch them through these pirate apps. I shouldnÂt say that…but…Moviebox, Cinemabox…Â
For someone that has trained as a lawyer this may have been bit of a rookie mistake. However, Mr Milanovic was quick to come on the defence explaining that ÂAnd what if the app isnÂt mine, if the iPad isnÂt mine?Â
It also appears that the former Prime Minister knows his stuff about movie piracy and pirate politics too. He went on to explain with reference to the Swedish Pirate Party that piracy is developing, ethically and legally.
It was only when the showÂs host started talking about Microsoft wanting to invest in speedboats that can travel underwater and also fly, did the former Prime Minister realise that he was actually a prank victim of the program.Â
